In September of 2025, we travelled to the Huila region of Colombia to visit the farmers, producers, and members that comprise the Genesis Sourcing team. Jesús Arbey Iquira, one of the friends we made, had a laugh that filled the room. He shared several stories of growing and processing coffee so that he could continue the legacy of his family. He is currently building a room for coffee quality analysis and we are thrilled to support him in his journey. 

Jesús Arbey Iquira is a dedicated coffee producer who employs meticulous farming practices to ensure the highest quality beans. His commitment to excellence is evident in the careful selection of coffee varieties and processing methods used on the farm.

Finca El Placer, owned and operated by Jesús Arbey Iquira, is a distinguished coffee farm located in the Acevedo municipality of Huila, Colombia. Situated at elevations ranging from 1,700 to 1,800 meters above sea level, the farm benefits from the region's fertile soils and favorable microclimate, ideal for cultivating specialty coffee.

This coffee has notes of purple grape, blackcurrant jam, and lavender. Pairs well with treasured memories, cloudspotting, and wild rivers.
